Perth 2012: Steamboat Night!

Hey all!

So last night (Sunday) I met up with Alex and Mel, and we headed back to their place for an awesome catch-up, complete with deep-and-meaningfuls, coupled with pizzas and coffees. Awesome!

Earlier tonight, Judi and I headed for an evening of grocery shopping at some Asian market and at Spud Shed, before hightailing it to her and Carol's place to prepare for an entertaining and incredibly filling evening of steamboat!! We were joined by Scott (under scrutiny), Beattie, Mr and Mrs Nye, and Mr and Mrs Hublin-Ng-Hubling-Ngublin-Hung. Once again, I'll let the photos tell the story (don't forget you can click on 'em for bigger views). Enjoy!!

Scott has big bagga balls.
Not sure what Mikey's doing here.
But this is perfectly normal Bernie behaviour. Arf.
Into the pot it goes!

Oooo can't wait!
Give it a good stir...
Ooooo! Aaaah! etc
We found Nemo...
...and Arielle ate him!
Trev and Josie (in Trevor's armpit) eventually join the party.

Lots of scoopage goin' on.
Beeattie's cute smile!
Dessert!
Me doing my trademark hand-growl.
And now Chris-lah does it.
And Judi joins in.
Bernie makes a noble attempt.
Whisk-head.

Perth 2012: A Toast To The Gride and Bloom!

I'm back! Here's a partial video of Judi giving her maid-of-honour speech to toast Josie and Trevor. Unfortunately my camera died about mid-way through, so Judi has very kindly allowed me to reproduce excerpts from the rest of her speech, which can be found below. Enjoy!

But I think his best display of commitment was when he got special permission from us to come to one of our monthly girl nights, just so he could spend those extra few hours with his gal. That might sound like a simple thing, but this is an ex US Marine surrounded by a gaggle of ladies for four hours; gossiping and giggling and mucking around. AND he wasn’t allowed to be called anything but ‘Trevolina’ for the night.

Every time he visited, we could all clearly see the look of adoration and love on his face when he was with Josie. The same look we see him wearing today. What we love about Trevor is how he lets Josie, just be Josie. He has never tried to change those wonderful qualities that make her so special. He’s dependable, adventurous and kind, just like her. He makes her extremely happy and provides her inner strength to face anything.

Josie and Trevor, as you sit side by side through this roller coaster of life, remember to scream from the peaks, hold hands through the dips, laugh through the loop the loops, and enjoy every twist and turn. May you be friends to each other as only lovers can; and may you love each other as only best friends can.
